Carpenter Earns WHEA Co-Player of the Week

Chestnut Hill, Mass. – Boston College women’s hockey junior forward Alex Carpenter has been named Hockey East Co-Player of the Week for her performance in the Eagles’ weekend sweep of Maine.
Carpenter (29-38-67) broke a four-game scoring drought with five points in BC’s two wins over the Black Bears last weekend.
The North Reading, Mass. native tallied three assists in Friday, Feb. 13’s 6-0 win, helping the Maroon and Gold to its second straight Hockey East regular season title. Carpenter came through with two goals, including the game-winner, in Saturday, Feb. 14’s 4-1 victory.
The junior forward continues to lead the nation in every offensive category, posting 2.31 points per game, 1.00 goals per game, and 1.31 assists per game.
This is Carpenter’s third weekly honor from the league this year. She also earned player of the week on Dec. 15 and Jan. 19. Carpenter has garnered two of the league’s four monthly accolades, tabbing player of the month for October and November.
Carpenter and the No. 1 BC Eagles are back in action this Thursday, Feb. 19 to host No. 6 Boston University at 7 p.m.
