Chestnut Hill, Mass. – Boston College women’s hockey members Alex Carpenter, Megan Keller, Emily Pfalzer, Haley Skarupa, and Dana Trivigno have been selected to the U.S. Women’s National Team, according to a release by USA Hockey Friday.
The five Eagles, along with former BC goaltender Molly Schaus, will skate with the National Team at the 2015 IIHF Women’s World Championship from March 28 to April 4 in Malmo, Sweden.
U.S. Women's National Team Head Coach Ken Klee and Director of Women's Hockey Reagan Carey discussed the qualities that have allowed several current Eagles to be succesful at the next level.
“Alex Carpenter’s compete level is second to none. She has a work ethic that is keeping her at the top of the game nationally and in college hockey,” said Klee.
“[Emily Pfalzer] certainly has an offensive threat factor. It’s a great asset to us at the National Team. Her vision where to put the puck to make us successful has been helpful to us and to BC as well,” Carey said.
“Haley’s skill and scoring ability are what makes her a special player. She continues to work hard off the ice to continue to get stronger, faster. She has what it takes to compete at the highest level of hockey,” said Carey.
Boston College is the most represented university on the 23-man roster.
