BC HIGHLIGHTS
- Sophomore Kelly Hughes finished with career-high 32 points and grabbed eight boards, while freshman Katie Quandt added 10 points and a career-high four blocks. Hughes hit a career-high seven three's in the game while sophomore Emilee Daley added nine points in the win. Hughes and Nicole Boudreau had five steals apiece in the win.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- BC took the lead early, 9-6, behind five points from sophomore Kelly Hughes. The lead grew to 16-8 with 12:14 left on a three and layup by Hughes.
- Boston College took a 21-10 lead on two foul shots by Hughes. She then extended the lead on a three at 6:19, BC 28, WF 17.
- Wake cut the lead to seven points on two straight baskets off steals but a three by Emilee Daley pushed the Eagles lead, 31-21 with 4:12 to play.
- The Decs cut into the Eagles lead as they went 5-for-8 from the floor in the final four minutes, while BC went 2-for-5 - BC 36, Wake Forest 32.
- The Eagles gave up the lead when Amber Campbell hit a three-pointer from the corner - BC 40, WF 41 - with 15:41 to play in the game.
- With 11:51 to play, the two teams had eight lead changes in the second half.
- Wake Forest took a five point lead. Hughes tied the game with straight points - BC 62, WF 62 - 6:01 to play.
- Dearica Hamby (36 points, 10 rebounds) took control and scored six straight points to push Wake ahead, 70-65 with 3:57 to play.
- Two three's by Daley and Hughes gave BC a 73-72 lead with 2:39 to play. Two freebies by Boudreau with 1:36 to play gave BC a one point lead.
- Wake Forest had the ball under the hoop and with seconds left on the clock, Karima Gabriel blocked the shot at the buzzer to seal the win.

- The Eagles were out-rebounded, 43-34.

- The Eagles shot 3-for-6 from the floor while Wake Forest went 0-for-3 in the final four minutes of play. BC forced four turnovers and had two steals in the final four minutes.
TEAM NOTES
- With the 32 points, Kelly Hughes became the first BC women's basketball player to score 30 or more points in a game since Stefanie Murphy had 30 vs. FSU in 2011.
- This was BC's first win over Wake Forest in nine games. Wake leads the overall series, 8-4.
- BC's Play4Kay "Pink Game" will take place on Sunday, Feb. 22 as the Eagles host FSU at 1 p.m. Fans are reminded to wear pink.
