BC HOSTS SYRACUSE WEDNESDAY NIGHT
• Boston College will host Syracuse on Wednesday night at 7 p.m. inside Conte Forum.
• The game will be televised on ESPN2 with Bob Wischusen and LaPhonso Ellis on the call.
• Syracuse won the first meeeting between the two programs on January 20, 69-61, at the Carrier Dome.
• Boston College has lost its last four outings, including a 79-68 setback to #12/13 North Carolina on Saturday.
• The Orange has lost three of its last four games and lost at Pittsburgh on Saturday, 83-77.
• Syracuse is 2-5 on the road this year.
EAGLES FALL TO #12/13 NORTH CAROLINA
• Junior Olivier Hanlan scored a season-high 30 points on 10-for-20 shooting as Boston College lost to visiting #12/13 North Carolina, 79-68, on Saturday.
• Hanlan was also 8-for-9 from the foul line. It was his third career game with 30 or more points.
• Graduate student Aaron Brown added 18 points, six rebounds and three assists. He was 6-for-12 from the field.
• Boston College started the game with a 7-2 run, but a 7-0 run by North Carolina gave the Tar Heels an 11-9 lead at the 13:22 mark.
• A Brown 3-pointer and an and-one conversion by Hanlan broke a tie and gave the Eagles a 23-17 lead with 7:51 left in the half.
• The Tar Heels responded with nine unanswered points to take a 26-23 lead.
• The teams would go into the half tied, 36-36.
• North Carolina made a 13-4 run early in the second half to build a 49-42 lead, its largest lead of the game to that point.
• UNC was ahead, 69-57, before Boston College scored seven unanswered points to cut the lead to five points.
• The Tar Heels maintained that lead at 73-68 with 2:29 remaining and then rattled off six unanswered to seal the win.
LAST TIME vs. SYRACUSE
• Graduate student Aaron Brown led all scorers with 21 points while adding six rebounds as Boston College lost at Syracuse, 69-61, on January 20.
• Classmate Dimitri Batten added 17 points and five boards.
• Junior Olivier Hanlan had 13 points (all in the second half), five rebounds and five assists.
• Boston College jumped out to a 9-2 lead by hitting three of its four 3-point attempts. Brown connected on both of his tries to start the run.
• The Eagles held a 12-4 lead at the 14:41 mark, but Syracuse clamped down the rest of the half and finished with a 31-5 run to take a 35-17 lead into the locker room.
• An 11-2 BC run to start the second half brought the deficit back into single digits, 37-28, but a quick 9-3 run by the Orange pushed it back to 46-31.
• The Eagles never faded down the stretch and went on a 7-2 spurt to pull within six, 66-60, with 53 seconds left, but that is as close as they would get.
