Fasoula Named ACC Rookie of the Week

Eagles rookie earns conference honor.

Boston College center Mariella Fasoula was named ACC Rookie of the Week, announced Tuesday by the conference office.

Fasoula, a native of Athens, Greece, scored a career-high 23 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead Boston College to a, 58-56, road win over Purdue on Thursday night in the Big Ten-ACC Challenge.

The Eagles rookie scored 10 of her 23 points in the fourth quarter. She scored her 10^th point of the quarter with 1:17 left to play which gave BC a, 55-54, lead. Fasoula shot 11-for-15 from the floor and had six defensive rebounds. She also had two blocks.
Fasoula is currently BC's second leading scorer (11.4 ppg.) and top rebounder (5.4 rpg.). She has started the last three games and is shooting 53 percent from the floor.

Boston College (6-1) will next host Hartford (4-3) on Wednesday, Dec. 9 at 7 p.m. Fans can purchase tickets at the gate prior to the game.
