CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Boston College men's soccer team, which advanced to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Championship, was ranked No. 8 in the country by TopDrawerSoccer.com in its final rankings of the 2015 season.
The Eagles were also ranked No. 10 by both the NSCAA and College Soccer News.
Boston College finished the season 11-8-2 and made its second-ever appearance in the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament. The Eagles beat Vermont in the first round of the tournament and then traveled to Tampa and beat No. 15 USF, 2-1, in overtime.
In the Sweet 16, BC went to the nation's capital to face No. 2 Georgetown. The sides played to a 1-1 draw and the Eagles advanced on penalty kicks, 5-4. All five players connected on their attempts for the maroon and gold.
The dream run came to an end at No. 6 Syracuse as the Orange advanced to the College Cup with a 1-0 victory.
