November 30, 2015 | Men's Hockey
Colin White is currently sixth in the nation in scoring (1.62 ppg) with seven goals and 14 assists through 13 contests
WAKEFIELD, Mass. – Freshman forward Colin White corralled his second Hockey East honor of the season after earning Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Week honors on Monday.
The 6-foot-0 centerman recorded his sixth-consecutive multi-point performance on Tuesday, Nov. 24 at the XL Center after scoring a goal along with two assists against Connecticut. White's tally on Tuesday marked his first-career game-winning goal as an Eagle. White followed up with the assist on Ryan Fitzgerald's game-winning goal on Saturday, Nov. 28 against RIT.
As a whole, White leads all rookies, nationally, in scoring with seven goals and 14 assists, averaging 1.62 points per game. The Hanover, Mass. Native's 21 points and 1.62 ppg currently ranks sixth in the country in all of college hockey.
Through 13 games, White's points total (21) matched last year's Hobey Baker winner, Jack Eichel, at this point in the season.
White has been a major contributor in the Eagles' early successes this season as Boston College has won 11-consecutive games, marking the first time the Eagles have done that since the 2013-14 season when BC won 11-straight from Jan. 17 to Feb. 21.
Hockey East also honored Andrew Poturalski (UNH ) as the Warrior Player of the Week and Dylan Zink (UML) as the HEA Defensive Player of the Week.
The Eagles are back on the ice this weekend for a Saturday-Sunday pair against Northeastern starting at Kelley Rink on Dec. 5 at 7 p.m. The following Sunday, BC travels down the street for a 4 p.m. faceoff against the Huskies at Matthews Area.
