Borr Advances to Main Draw at ITA All-American

PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. – Junior Lexi Borr won her way into the main draw of the exclusive Riviera/ITA All-American following her 6-3, 1-6, 7-5 win over Georgia's Silvia Garcia on Wednesday evening. Garcia, who is ranked No. 58 nationally, pushed Borr to three sets – her second three-set match in two days.

Borr was one of eight qualifiers to win a place in the 32-player main draw, where she will face Texas A&M's Rachel Pierson – ranked No. 18 nationally – on Thursday at 1:45 p.m. PT. The winner of the Borr-Pierson match will face the winner of the Sinead Lohan (No. 13, Miami) vs. Julia Elbaba (No. 3, Virginia) match on Friday.

In doubles action, Borr and sophomore Asiya Dair teamed to defeat the Denver pairing of Maureen Slattery and Julia O'Loughlin, 8-3, in the qualifying backdraw on Thursday morning. The BC duo has advanced to the semifinals of the doubles consolation bracket and will next face Mississippi's Natalie Suk and Mai El Kamash, who are ranked No. 41 nationally in doubles.
