Team
- Boston College is now 8-16 against Virginia Tech in the all-time series, 5-8 in ACC meetings and 4-8 at Chestnut Hill.
- The BC defense held Virginia Tech to 81 rushing yards. It marked the seventh time in 2015 and the 14th time in 22 games the Eagles held an opponent under 100 yards on the ground.
- After holding opponents to 10 or fewer points in the first half over the first six games, the Eagles have now conceded at least 17 points in the first half in each of the last three games.
- The last time the Eagles suffered a five-game losing streak was in 2012 (Sept. 15-Oct. 20).
- The Eagles' 143 passing yards were the second most on the season. BC tallied 155 yards against Maine in the season opener (Sept. 5).
Offense
- Freshman walk-on QB John Fadule made his first career appearance and threw for 143 yards on 8-for-20 passing. He ran for 15 yards on 53 carries and on his first collegiate play from scrimmage, he rushed for 25 yards.
- Junior RB Tyler Rouse caught two passes for a career-high 53 yards.
- Redshirt freshman FB Richard Wilson scored on a three-yard run with 8:09 remaining in the fourth quarter for his first career rushing touchdown and his second score of the year.
- Redshirt freshman QB Troy Flutie made his fourth start of the season, going 0-of-1 through the air and rushing once for a loss of six yards before Fadule took over in the first quarter.
Defense
- With 11 tackles for loss, Boston College recorded fourth double-digit total of 2015 and its seventh since the start of 2014
- Junior LB Matt Milano's recorded a career-high nine tackles. His first-quarter sack increased his season total to 6.5 Â and career total to 7.5. He added a tackle for a loss of four yards in the third quarter to increase his season total to 12.5
- Junior DB John Johnson recorded his second career interception in the end zone in the second quarter
- Junior DL Truman Gutapfel recorded two tackles for a loss. He now has 7.5 on the season.
- Senior LB Steven Daniels tallied 1.5 sacks to increase his total to 6.5 sacks on the season. He had a game-high 11 tackles for the game.
- Freshman DB William Harris recorded his first career forced fumble in the fourth quarter. Sophomore LB Connor Strachan recovered his second recovery of the season. Strachan also tallied a tackle for a loss of three yards in the fourth quarter to bring his season total to eight.
Special Teams
- Sophomore K Mike Knoll was 1-of-2 on field goals. He connected from 29 in the third quarter while his miss came from 43 yards out.
- Freshman WR Michael Walker returned four kickoffs for 96 yards, including a career-long and team-long 56-yard return at the end of the fourth quarter.
Other
- Between the first and second quarters, former Eagle Mark Roopenian (1977-80), a middle guard originally from Watertown, Mass., was honored on the field.
