CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Boston College men's basketball team held its first official practice on Saturday afternoon in preparation for the 2015-16 season.

The Eagles welcome eight newcomers (seven freshmen, one graduate transfer) to a team that won 13 games a season ago. Senior Dennis Clifford returns for his final season after averaging 6.9 points and 5.5 rebounds a year ago. Eli Carter, a graduate transfer from Florida, averaged 8.8 points last season for the Gators.

Senior Steve Perpiglia (0.1 points, 0.0 rebounds), junior Garland Owens (3.4, 2.0), sophomore Darryl Hicks and redshirt freshman Idy Diallo are the other returners for the Maroon and Gold.

Head Coach Jim Christian also brought in seven talented freshmen this year. They include:

Fans can get their first glimpse of the 2015-16 Eagles on Thursday, November 5 at 6 p.m. when they host Bentley in an exhibition in Conte Forum.
