- Boston College is now 4-3 in the all-time series against Duke and 1-1 in Durham. The Blue Devils have won the last two meetings with the last coming in 2011.
- The Eagles have now held six straight opponents under 10 points in the first half and three of the five 2015 opponents under 10 points for the game.
- Boston College has held six consecutive regular-season opponents to four or fewer third-down conversions. Teams are just 15-of-80 on such conversions in that span.
- The Eagles haven't allowed a touchdown drive of more than 15 yards since the opening drive against Florida State (Sept. 18).
- Boston College shut out the Blue Devils in the second half and held them to just 73 total yards in the second half.
- For the fifth time this season, the Eagles held their opponent to under 100 rushing yards. It was the 12th time the BC defense did so in 18 games.
Offense
- Redshirt freshman QB Troy Flutie made his second consecutive start of the season, throwing for a career-high 129 yards and one touchdown on 5-of-8 passing. He also rushed for nine yards on two carries.
- Flutie's touchdown pass came on a 66-yard catch-and-run to sophomore WR Thadd Smith with 28 seconds remaining in the third quarter. It was Smith's first career touchdown reception. He finished with a career-high 99 receiving yards on two catches.
- All three of Flutie's touchdown passes this season have come off play-action passes.
- The 66-yard pass was the Eagles' longest play from scrimmage this season.
- Freshman QB Jeff Smith rushed for 60 yards on a career-high 11 carries.
- Boston College converted the first third-down conversion of the game on their fourth attempt for their first first down with about 1:30 to go in the first quarter.
- The Eagles recorded their first completion with just under 10 minutes to go in the third quarter on a 33-yard pass from Flutie to Smith on third down from the BC two-yard line.
Defense
- Senior LB Steven Daniels recorded a career-high 12 tackles to lead both teams. He tallied one sack for a loss of eight yards, his second sack of the season and 6.5 in his career. He also added 2.5 tackles for a loss of 10 yards.
- Junior DE Kevin Kavalec returned after missing one game and recorded 1.5 tackles for a loss of two yards. He also recorded the tackle that prevented a touchdown on 4th-and-one from the BC one-yard line with 11:03 remaining in the third quarter.
- Junior LB Matt Milano recorded a career-high nine tackles, including eight solo stops and a sack in the fourth quarter and three tackles for loss. It was his first sack of the season and he has 6.5 TFLs.
- Senior DE Connor Wujciak recorded a tackle for a loss in the third quarter. He now has 2.5 on the season and 13.0 in his career.
Special Teams
- Freshman K Colton Lichtenberg missed his only field goal attempt - a 45-yarder - with 3:35 to play in the game.
- Freshman WR Michael Walker returned two kickoffs for 43 yards. He has three returns on the year.
- Senior K/P Alex Howell punted eight times for 341 yards, averaging 42.6 yards per punt. He landed two punts inside the 20 and had a game-long of 52 yards.
