Pandelena leading BC after round one
ROCKVILLE, Md. – Senior Nicholas Pandelena shot a team-best +2 (74) in the first round of the Maryland Terrapin Invitational at the Woodmont Country Club on Monday.
The first round was canceled due to frost and the teams played one round yesterday and the final round today.
Host team Maryland leads the tournament at +4 overall while James Madison and Ohio are tied for second at +6. Loyola Maryland (+7) and Rutgers (+8) round out the top five. Boston College is in sixth at +14.
Pandelena shot two-over and ranked third in the field with 14 pars. He was also -1 on par 5s. He is tied for 16th place after the first round.
Sophomore Patrick Hallisey leads the tournament in par 5 scoring at -3 and he ranks third with five birdies. He finished the first round with a +3 (75) which puts him T21.
Freshman Matthew Naumec sits at +4 (76) and is tied for 27th. Naumec also had five birdies and ranked second in par 5 scoring at -2. Senior Brian Butler rounded out the scoring for BC with a +5 (77). He is -1 on the par 5s.
The second and final round will be played on Tuesday.
