- Boston College is now 9-14-2 in the all-time series against Clemson and 3-6-1 Â at Memorial Stadium.Â
- The 532 total yards of offense tallied by Clemson is the most Boston College has given up all season. The previous is the 228 that Duke  totalled on Oct. 3, 2015. The last time an opponent topped 500 yards of total offense was the 529 Arizona totalled during the AdvoCare V100 Bowl on Dec. 13, 2013.Â
- The Tigers rushed for 112 yards, becoming the first opponent to top 100 rushing yards this season and the first since Florida State rushed for 110 on Nov. 22, 2014.Â
- The Eagles gave up more than 10 points in the first half for the first time in eight games.Â
- The 34 points Clemson scored is the most Boston College has surrendered all season.
- The Tigers racked up 261 yards in the first half, more than the Eagles had previously given up in an entire game.Â
- Clemson scored 10 points in the third quarter. Boston College had given up only three points in the third quarter all year. After shutting out opponents in the third quarter over the first five games of the season, the Eagles have now conceded 13 points in the third over the past two games.Â
- Boston College has held seven consecutive regular-season opponents to five or fewer third-down conversions. Teams are just 22-of-110 on such conversions in that span. Clemson was just 5-of-15 on third downs in the game.
- The Tigers picked up 24 first downs - the most the Eagles have allowed all season.Â
- Clemson's 75-yard touchdown drive in the first quarter was the first touchdown drive of 15 yards or longer the Eagles conceded since the opening drive against Florida State on Sept. 18, 2015. It was also the first touchdown Boston College allowed in 11 quarters.Â
- The Tigers followed up their touchdown drive with a field goal. It was the first time an opponent has scored on the Eagles' defense in consecutive drives.Â
- The 51-yard touchdown pass from Deshaun Watson to Artavis Scott in the third quarter was the longest play the BC defense has allowed this season.Â
Offense
- Junior RB Myles Willis rushed for 88 yards on 15 carries, including a season-long 45-yard run in the third quarter.Â
- Freshman QB Jeff Smith made his first career start, becoming the first true freshman to start under center for the Eagles since Chase Rettig in 2010 against Notre Dame on Oct. 2.
- Smith threw for a career-high 87 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions on 7-of-22 passing. He also added 13 rushing yards and a touchdown on seven carries.
- Senior FB Bobby Wolford hauled in a five-yard reception for a touchdown with 8:13 left in the first quarter. It was his first touchdown this season and fourth of his career.Â
Defense
- Sophomore DB Kamrin Moore tallied his second tackle for a loss of the season in the first quarter, giving him 2.5 tackles for loss in his career.
- Senior DB Justin Simmons recorded an interception in the first quarter. It was his first on the season and fourth of his career.
- Senior LB Steven Daniels picked up his third sack of the season (7.5 in his career) in the first quarter. He also recorded his first interception (third of his career) in the second quarter off a QB hit from sophomore LB Matt Milano.
- Milano recorded his fourth sack of the season in the fourth quarter. He now has five on his career. He also picked up two tackles loss, giving him 9.5 on the season and 12.5 for his career.Â
- Junior DT Truman Gutapfel had a tackle for loss in the second quarter. He now has 4.0 on the season and ten in his career.Â
- Senior DE Mehdi Abdesmad recorded a sack in the second quarter, giving him three on the season and five for his career.He also picked up a tackle for a loss in the third quarter, giving him 8.5 on the season and 15 for his career.
- Junior DE Kevin Kavalec recorded a tackle for loss in the fourth quarter, giving him five on the season and 15.5 for his career.Â
Special Teams
- Freshman WR Michael Walker returned two kickoffs for 44 yards
- Senior P Alex Howell punted a season-high ten times for 452 yards, pinning Clemson inside the 20 six times and booting two over 50 yards, including a season-long 58-yard punt. the last time Howell punted 10 times was against Clemson on Oct. 18, 2014, when he punted 10 times for 501 yards.
- Sophomore K Mike Knoll was 1-of-1 on field goals and 2-of-2 on extra points. He connected from 21-yards out in the second quarter.
