BC HIGHLIGHTS
- The Eagles recorded two interceptions - one by senior DB Justin Simmons and one by senior LB Steven Daniels - both of which BC converted into points in the first half.
- BC junior RB Myles Willis rushed from a team-high 88 yards on 15 carries. His game total was one yard shy of his career high of 89 yards.
- Junior FB Bobby Wolford scored the Eagles' first touchdown, his first of the 2015 season and the third of his career. It was thrown by Jeff Smith, who scored his first passing TD of his career.
- Junior RB Tyler Rouse caught the longest reception of his career late in the fourth quarter, a 39-yard pass from Smith on fourth and 6. The reception led to Smith's 1-yard TD run with 1:29 to play.
KEY MOMENTS
- The Eagles pulled within seven at the end of the first half on a field goal by sophomore K Mike Knoll, but the Tigers rattled off 10 points in the third quarter - after the BC defense had allowed just three points total in the third quarter of games this year - to take a commanding 27-10 lead.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Eagles were first to get on the board with five-yard touchdown pass from Smith to Wolford with 8:13 to play in the first quarter. On the Tigers' second drive, Simmons intercepted Clemson QB Deshaun Watson's pass at the Clemson 48-yard line and returned it 28 yards. Smith rushed for 11 yards for a first down on third-and-third, Smith found Wolford to give BC an early advantage.
- Watson matched the Eagles with 5:25 to play in the quarter. The Tigers went three-and-out, but a roughing the kicker call gave Clemson life and Watson connected with Artavis Scott for a 50-yard completion. On third-and-goal, Watson rushed in from the four to tie the game.
- The Tigers pulled ahead on a 42-yard field goal by Greg Huegel with just over one minute to play in the first quarter on a seven-play, 66-yard drive.
- Clemson took a 10-point lead in the second quarter, scoring on a fourth-and-one play as Watson hit Zac Brooks for a 21-yard TD pass with just over seven minutes to go in the half.
- The Eagles got back within seven as Knoll hit a 21-yard field goal with three second to play in the half to make it a 17-10 game.
- Huegel hit a 39-yard field goal on the Tigers' opening drive in the second half to extend the lead back to 10.
- The Tigers made it a 27-10 game with 4:20 to play in the third quarter on a 51-yard touchdown pass from Watson to Scott.
- Clemson pushed the score to 34-10 with 6:38 left in the game. On third-and-17 with just over eight minutes to play in the fourth, Watson connected for a 65-yard pass to Deon Cain which brought the ball to the BC 1-yard line. Cain sidestepped a tackle and broke free down the sideline for longest play the BC defense has allowed this season. On third and goal, Watson found Jordan Leggett in the endzone.
- BC found the endzone with 1:29 left as Smith scampered one yard for the rushing TD after he connected with Rouse for a 67-yard pass on fourth down to set up first and goal inside the Clemson 5-yard line.
