EAGLES HOST PITT IN ACC HOME OPENER
• Boston College hosts Pittsburgh on Tuesday night at 9 p.m. in its ACC home opener.
• The game will be televised on RSN/NESN with Steve Martin and Eddie Fogler on the call.
• The Eagles lost their ACC opener at #2/2 Duke on Saturday at Cameron Indoor Stadium, 85-62.
• Pitt was also on the road for its opener, suffering a 68-50 loss at NC State.
• The Panthers have won the last seven meetings in this series, including a 66-59 decision last year at Conte Forum.
• BC is 6-1 in Chestnut Hill this year while Pittsburgh is 0-3 in road games.
EAGLES FALL AT #2/2 DUKE, 85-62
• Junior Olivier Hanlan scored a team-high 22 points as Boston College lost at #2/2 Duke on Saturday, 85-62, at Cameron Indoor Stadium.
• Hanlan was 8-for-16 shooting from the floor and 6-for-7 from the foul line. He also led the Eagles with four assists and two steals.
• Graduate student Aaron Brown scored all 11 of his points in the second half, going 5-for-8 from the field after halftime.
• Senior Patrick Heckmann added nine points and five rebounds while junior Dennis Clifford had eight points and five boards.
• Duke made the first run of the game when an 11-4 spurt gave it a 21-12 lead with 11:41 left in the half.
• Boston College responded with six-straight points to cut it back to 21-18. Heckmann hit a 3-pointer during that stretch.
• The Blue Devils closed out the half with a 17-4 run over the final 10:27 to take a 38-22 lead into the break.
• A 9-2 Boston College run brought the deficit to 50-40 a little more than five minutes into the second half. Hanlan scored six of the nine points.
• With the Blue Devils still holding a 10-point lead, they rattled off 14 unanswered points to build a 67-43 advantage and put the game out of reach.
LAST SEASON vs. PITTSBURGH
• Olivier Hanlan scored a game-high 25 points, going 10-for-15 from the floor, as Boston College lost at home to Pitt, 66-59, on February 26, 2014.
• Hanlan also dished out three assists.
• Patrick Heckmann scored 15 points and added four rebounds.
• Boston College started the game with a quick 7-2 run, but Pittsburgh responded with a 21-4 run over the next six minutes to build a 23-11 lead.
• The Pitt lead reached as many as 15 points with 5:24 left, but the Eagles brought the deficit down to 35-26 at the break.
• With the Panthers leading 42-29, BC scored eight unanswered points over 2:15 to cut the lead to 42-37.
• Hanlan brought the Eagles closer, to 49-45 with 8:51 left, with a pair of free throws.
• Pitt's Talib Zanna scored the next four points in the game to build the advantage back up to 53-45.
• BC never got closer than five points the rest of the way.
