DiSomma, Gross Turn In Strong Performances at BU Invite

Boston, Mass. – The Boston College Women’s track team travelled down the B-line to take part in one of their largest indoor meets of the season, the Boston University Terrier Invite. The Eagles saw many strong performances, especially from the underclassman.
Two freshmen, Julia Barron and Anna Atkinson, started off strong in the 60 meter hurdles event, each posting personal records of 9.39 and 9.59, respectively.
Sophomore Claudia DiSomma took first place in her heat with a new personal record (2:10.62) in the 800m. This time earned her a fifth place finish overall.
In the 400 meters, freshmen Shannon Ahern (58.48) and Johanna Celli (58.56) each set personal records.
Sophomore Fallyn Boich took first place in Flight 1 of the Women’s Shot Put, setting a new personal record. (10.59 m)
Junior Jacqui Hannon broke her previous record in the 60 meter dash by more than two tenths of a second (8.14), earning her a first place finish in her heat.
In the 500 meters, sophomore Robin Gross shattered her previous personal best with a time on 1:14.38, taking first in her heat and earning a fourth place overall finish.
The Eagles turned in numerous solid finishes in the mile, headlined by junior Danielle Winslow, setting her new personal record (4:51.25).
Junior Brittany Winslow finished off the meet for the Eagles with a personal record (9:49.12) in the 3000 meters, an event she has not run in two seasons.
The Eagles look forward to next weekend at the BU Scarlet & White Invitational.
