Providence, R.I. – No. 1 Boston College women’s hockey (25-0-1, 16-0-0 WHEA) pushed passed Providence (6-17-4, 5-9-1 WHEA), 4-2, to earn its 23rd straight victory. The Eagles fought back from a one-goal deficit early in the first period to down the Friars and remain undefeated.
Providence got on the board in the opening minutes of the first period on a goal from senior forward Haley Frade. The Eagles fought back the remainder of the period, tallying 17 shots on PC goaltender Allie Morse.
With just five seconds left in the period, senior defenseman Emily Pfalzer netted the shorthanded equalizer to send BC to the first intermission tied at one with PC.
Although Boston College outshot the Friars, 15-1, in the second period, PC’s Morse held strong and kept the Eagles out of the net. The score remained tied at one heading into period three.
Junior forward Haley Skarupa stepped up with some third period heroics, notching two goals midway through the period to give the Eagles a 3-1 lead over PC.
The Friars showed life with two minutes left when PC’s Cassidy Carels reduced the Boston College lead to 3-2.
Alex Carpenter sealed the Eagles’ 4-2 win on an empty-netter with 30 seconds on the clock.

- BC outshot Providence 48-14; freshman goaltender Katie Burt recorded 12 saves in the Eagles' win
