Women's Tennis Falls to LSU, 4-3

Match Results 
Chapel Hill, N.C.- Coming off of a loss against Dartmouth last week, the No. 59 Eagles traveled to Chapel Hill to face No. 37 Louisiana State University. Although they had an impressive showing in the doubles match, the Eagles would end up losing 4-3.
Asiya Dair and Jennifer Ren opened the doubles match with a well-played 6-4 win. LSU would retaliate by winning the following set (6-4). Lexi Borr and Jessica Wacnik shined in the final doubles match, taking the 7-6 win and giving the Eagles a 1-0 lead.
Wins by both No. 61 Wacnik (6-2, 6-4) and No. 103 Borr (6-0, 6-3) in the singles gave BC a 3-1 advantage. LSU would follow up with an impressive comeback, winning their final three matches.
Despite the 0-2 record, head coach Nigel Bentley believes in his team.
"I've never felt better about a 0-2 team before," said Bentley. "We came together as a group today. We focused on our doubles this week and clearly that paid off."
Jessica Wacnik had a big turnaround including a big win over No. 28 Joana Vale Costa. Coach Bentley liked what he saw from his senior standout.
"As for singles, Jess bounced back from a tough time against Dartmouth," he said. "We're happy with what we saw from her today."
The Eagles will be back in action tomorrow afternoon against Minnesota. They'll be looking to get their first win of the season.
