BC HIGHLIGHTS
• Kelly Hughes had 18 points, six rebounds and four assists while Karima Gabriel added 14 points and nine boards. Nicole Boudreau had 15 points in the loss.
TURNING POINT
A four point play by Pitts Brianna Kiesel (29 points) with 3:40 to play in the game. Kiesel hit a three and was fouled by BC. She then hit the foul shot to cut the five point BC lead to just one point.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Eagles opened up with an 8-4 lead in the first five minutes behind three's from Emilee Daley and Nicole Boudreau.
• BC held a 27-18 lead with 7:54 to play. Pitt cut it to two points on a seven point run - 27-25 with 6:08 to play in the half.
• With less than four to play in the half, Hughes hit a long three to tie the game at 30-30. At that point, Hughes was 3 of 5 from long range.
• Pitt hit three three's in the final three minutes to the half to pull away, 39-34, at the half.
• Karima Gabriel scored eight of the Eagles first 10 points in the second half and BC was down, 48-44, at 15:42.
• The Pitt lead was cut to two points on a jumper by Hughes and hook from Katie Quandt with 12:27 to play.
• BC continued to battle and with 7:46 to play, Daley hit her second three of the game to give the Eagles a, 57-55, lead.
• Monica Wignot cut the BC lead to two points on a long three at 4:56.
• BC extended the lead to five pints on a three by Boudreau with 4:28 to play. That would be the Eagles last field goal in the half. Brianna Kiesel took over the game and proceeded to score 11 of Pitts points in the final minutes to seal the win for the Panthers.
