BC BACK ON THE ROAD AT GEORGIA TECH
• Boston College will travel to Atlanta this weekend to take on Georgia Tech on Sunday at 1 p.m. at McCamish Pavilion.
• The game will be televised on RSN/NESN with Wes Durham and Mike Gminski on the call.
• Georgia Tech defeated BC three times last season by an average of 4.7 points. The game in Atlanta was decided by a last second shot and the match up in the ACC Tournament went into overtime.
• The Eagles have started ACC play by losing their first five games. The most recent loss came at Syracuse on Tuesday night, 69-61.
• The Yellow Jackets are on a six-game losing streak that began in ACC play. They lost to #2/2 Virginia on Thursday night, 57-28.
BC FALLS AT SYRACUSE, 69-61
• Graduate student Aaron Brown led all scorers with 21 points while adding six rebounds as Boston College lost at Syracuse Tuesday night, 69-61.
• Classmate Dimitri Batten added 17 points and five boards. It was the most points he has scored since December 14.
• Junior Olivier Hanlan had 13 points (all in the second half), five rebounds and five assists.
• Boston College jumped out to a 9-2 lead by hitting three of its four 3-point attempts. Brown connected on both of his tries to start the run.
• The Eagles held a 12-4 lead at the 14:41 mark, but Syracuse clamped down the rest of the half and finished with a 31-5 run to take a 35-17 lead into the locker room.
• An 11-2 BC run to start the second half brought the deficit back into single digits, 37-28, but a quick 9-3 run by the Orange pushed it back to 46-31.
• The Eagles never faded down the stretch and went on a 7-2 spurt to pull within six, 66-60, with 53 seconds left, but that is as close as they would get.
LAST YEAR AGAINST GEORGIA TECH
• Georgia Tech won all three meetings between the two programs last season.
• The Yellow Jackets won at Conte Forum, 68-60, on January 22. Georgia Tech started the game on a 16-3 run, a deficit that BC could never tie. The Eagles cut the lead down to 57-56 with 4:44 left, but Georgia Tech pulled away in the end.
• After an ice storm postponed the game in Atlanta to the next day, Georgia Tech won at McCamish Pavilion, 74-71, on February 13.
• Olivier Hanlan hit a baseline jumper to give BC a 71-70 lead with three seconds left, but Marcus Georges-Hunt went the length of the floor and hit a 3-pointer with 0.7 left to give Georgia Tech the win.
• The final meeting came in the first round of the ACC Tournament with Georgia Tech winning, 73-70, in overtime.
• Boston College led, 67-66, with 1:44 left in the overtime, but Georgia Tech scored the next five points to take a 71-67 lead with 15 seconds left.
• Hanlan averaged 18.7 points in the three games, including a 21-point performance in Atlanta.
• Senior Patrick Heckmann scored 21 points in the ACC Tournament contest.
DEFENSIVE FOCUS

• Last year through 17 contests, the Eagles were giving up 74.8 points per game - a 10.2 point difference.
• BC has held six opponents to 60 points or less this year and is 4-2 in those outings. Last season, it held just two opponents to 60 points or less through 17 games.
• In addition, the 2014-15 Eagles have allowed just one opponent to score more than 80 points. Last year, five different teams reached that mark to this point.
