Burlington, Vt. – No. 1 Boston College women’s hockey (21-0-1, 14-0-0 WHEA) defeated the Catamounts (10-13-1, 1-10-0 WHEA), 4-0, Saturday afternoon to extend its unbeaten streak to 22 games. Junior forwards Alex Carpenter and Haley Skarupa connected three times to power the Eagles past Vermont for their 19th straight win.
Alex Carpenter continued her point streak, scoring the first goal of the game in the 13th minute off a pass from Haley Skarupa to make it 1-0, Eagles.
Junior forward Dana Trivigno, with just six seconds to go in the opening period, followed up on Kate Leary’s rebound in front of the net to give BC a 2-0 lead heading into the first intermission.
Halfway through the middle frame, Skarupa extended the Eagles’ lead to three goals off a feed from Carpenter on a rush to the net.
The Eagles would score once more with seven minutes left in the game to complete a 4-0 victory over the Catamounts. Skarupa found Carpenter, who fired a high glove-side shot past UVM goaltender Molly Depew.

- Alex Carpenter and Haley Skarupa extended their point streaks to 20 games, having tallied points in each game they have played in this season
- Freshman goaltender Katie Burt, returning from earning a Gold Medal with Team USA at the U-18 IIHF World Championships, earned her fifth shutout of the season
- Burt is now tied for third on BC’s single-season shutout list
- The Eagles continue the longest winning (19 games) and unbeaten streak (22 games) in program history
- BC has outshot its opponent in every game this season, edging Vermont 36-21 in shots Saturday afternoon
- Junior defenseman Lexi Bender led the Eagles with a plus-four rating vs. UVM
The Eagles are back in action for game two of the series vs. Vermont tomorrow, Sunday Jan. 18, at 2 p.m.
