Burt, Team USA Compete for Gold vs. Canada

Chestnut Hill, Mass. - Boston College women's hockey freshman goaltender Katie Burt, competing with Team USA in the U18 World Championships in Buffalo, N.Y., will start in net for the gold medal game vs. Canada tonight.
With her start in tonight's championship game against Canada, Burt will have played in four out of five of the United States' games. The Lynn, Mass. native boasts a 0.73 goals against average and a .941 save percentage, allowing just two goals over the course of 165 minutes of play.
Burt was the netminder for Team USA's 2-1 shootout victory over Canada in the first round of the tournament on Jan. 5.
Burt and Team USA are looking for the first Gold Medal against Canada since 2011. The U.S. has faced Team Canada in the gold medal game every year since the tournament started in 2008.
Puck drop for the U18 World Championships gold medal game is set for 7 p.m.
