Chestnut Hill, Mass. – Women’s cross country head coach Randy Thomas discussed the team’s performance at the Minuteman Invitational on Sep. 13 and looks ahead to hosting the Coast-to-Coast Battle in Beantown this Friday, Sep. 26 at Franklin Park.
Thomas remarked on the strength and development of the freshmen class, with Isabelle Kennedy clocking a 17:38.40 along with Ashbrook Gwinn for an eighth place tie. He also talked about redshirt senior Maddie Davidson and junior Laura Hottenrott, two of the team’s top returners, getting ready to race this Friday after recovering from injuries.
“It’s going to be a great race on Friday. We have teams coming from all over the country. It’s a great opportunity for the kids to get after it and show what they’re made of, so we’re really excited,” said Thomas.
Thomas also spoke to the strength of senior Liv Westphal, who placed first overall at the Minuteman Invitational, and Brittany and Danielle Winslow who look to finish in the top 15-20 in the Coast-to-Coast Battle in Beantown on Friday.
