Capizzano Selected to Canada's National Team Fall Festival

Chestnut Hill, Mass. – Boston College sophomore Kristyn Capizzano is one of 36 forwards that have been selected to attend Canada’s National Women’s Team Fall Festival.
Capizzano, in her freshman year at BC, totaled 26 points on 11 goals and 15 assists, including an assist on the lone goal in the NCAA quarterfinal game against Clarkson. The Oakville, Ontario native was the captain on Team Canada’s Under-18 squad and helped her team win the gold medal at the 2013 IIHF Women’s World Championships in Finland. Capizzano also served as the captain of the Mississauga Jr. Chiefs in 2013.
Canada’s National Women’s Team Fall Festival will take place in Calgary Sep. 22-24 and will be utilized to evaluate player progression as players prepare for upcoming opportunities with Canada’s National Women’s Team. Head coach Doug Derraugh along with assistant coaches and Team Canada scouts will be in attendance to assess the 58 players during the camp.
The camp will serve as a benchmark, in addition to other international opportunities and club team play, before selecting the team that will represent Team Canada at the 2015 IIHF Ice Hockey Women’s World Championship in Malmo, Sweden in April.
