The Boston College women's basketball team will host Northeastern on Wednesday at 1 p.m. Fans can purchase tickets at the gate at Conte Forum tomorrow prior to the tip off.
Boston College is now 7-5 on the season and will begin ACC play after Wednesday's game against the Huskies. Fans not attending the game can watch at www.bceagles.com.
BC vs. Northeastern
- This will be the 28th meeting between Boston College and Northeastern.
- The Eagles lead the overall series, 14-13.
- BC and Northeastern have not played since the 2010 season.
- BC defeated the Huskies, 80-67, on Dec. 30, 2010, behind 20 points and 10 rebounds from Stefanie Murphy`10 and 22 points and 10 rebounds from Carolyn Swords `10.
- The Eagles have won the last five meetings.
- The first meeting between Boston College and Northeastern took place on Feb. 27, 1973 with the Huskies earning a, 44-37, victory.
LAST GAME OUT
Boston College defeated Providence, 79-51, on Sunday behind 22 points and 10 rebounds from sophomore Kelly Hughes. It marked her third career double-double and second time she hit six three's in a game. Freshman Ashley Kelsick scored a career-high 19 points and added six boards in the win. Junior Nicole Boudreau had six points, six boards and five steals. It is the third time in her career in which Boudreau had five thefts in a game.
BC fell behind 10-2 to start the game as Tori Rule hit three of her five three-pointers in the first four minutes of play ... The Eagles slowly chipped away and took the lead with 3:14 to play in the half when Kelly Hughes hit a three-pointer to give BC a 28-26 lead. The lead grew to four on a lay-up by Ashley Kelsick. In the final 1:39 of the first half, BC hit three three-pointers to take a 39-33 lead into the locker room.
Hughes, Kelsick and Rachel Gartner all went deep. In the second half, BC sealed the win by holding Providence to just three points in the final 10 minutes of the game. Hughes, Kelsick and Lauren Engeln sparked the run as did the defense as BC caused 10 turnovers by the Friars in the run.

Boston College point guard Sarah Marshall hit four free throws in the final minute of play as the Eagles captured a 70-64 victory over cross-state rival the University of Massachusetts (9-4) at Conte Forum. She finished with 10 points and went 8-for-8 from the foul line in the game. Kathrin Ress finished with 22 points, eight rebounds and four assists while freshman Elisabeth Egnell notched a double-double (14 points, 11 rebounds).
