Murphy, Skarupa Named Eagles of the Week

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Graduate student quarterback Tyler Murphy (football) and junior forward Haley Skarupa (women's ice hockey) have been named Eagles of the Week.
Murphy broke the Atlantic Coast Conference record for rushing yards by a quarterback in the win against Syracuse. Murphy has 1,079 rushing yards through 12 games, which surpasses Clemson's Woodrow Dantzler, who amassed 1,061 yards in 2001. Murphy also went 13-for-17 against the Orange for 160 yards and a touchdown.
Skarupa had an eight-point week in two wins against Yale and No. 7 Harvard. She earned Hockey East Player of the Week for her performance. Skarupa netted a goal and added an assist in Tuesday's shutout of the Bulldogs. In Friday afternoon's 10-2 victory over the Crimson, she recorded a career high six points on two goals and four assists. Skarupa is second in the nation in points per game (2.36), assists per game (1.36) and goals per game (1.00).
Football wrapped up its regular season with a 7-5 record. No. 1 women's ice hockey plays at Maine on Friday night.
