BC vs. Providence
- This will be the 51st meeting between Boston College and Providence.
- The Friars lead the overall series, 30-20.
- BC and Providence first played on March 2, 1977. The Friars won the game, 48-30, on the campus of Boston College in the Roberts Centers.
- BC's first win over Providence came on Jan. 8, 1985 (71-56). The Eagles were led by Sally Madeira with 14 points and Jane Haubrich and Biz Houghton with seven rebounds apiece.
- BC has won the last 11 meetings.
- Last year, Boston College defeated Providence, 80-71, behind 23 points from Kristen Doherty. Katie Zenevitch added 14 points and six rebounds while Nicole Boudreau added 15 points, six rebounds and five assists. Kelly Hughes played just 11 minutes and had five points.
LAST GAME OUT
Boston College lost to Hofstra, 71-61, at Conte Forum on Dec. 21. The dropped to 6-5 on the season. This was the third time the two teams played and it was the fi rst time Hofstra earned a victory.
Highlights - BC junior Nicole Boudreau led the team with 18 points and had four boards, while Kelly Hughes had 17 points and seven rebounds.
How it happened - Hofstra took a 7-2 lead and never looked back. BC opened the game 1-for-9 from the field as Hofstra pulled away. The Eagles were behind, 34-26, at the half, shooting just 29%. BC opened the second half on a 7-2 run to cut the Hofstra lead to three points, 36-33. Hofstra's Kelly Loftus hit two straight three's to push Hofstra's lead to nine points at 16:25 in the half. A minute later she hit her third three and the Hofstra lead went to 12 points. Boudreau would cut it to six points on an old fashion three-point play with 15 minutes to play but Loftus hit her fourth three to push Hofstra's lead to 12 points. Loftus hit her fifth three with under 10 to play, BC 44, Hofstra 56. Back-to-back three's by Hughes and Boudreau cut the Hofstra lead to 10 points with two minutes left in the game.

THIS DAY IN HISTORY
Aja Parham had all 15 of her points and all seven of her rebounds in the second half as No. 24 Boston College rallied to defeat No. 14 Stanford, 77-69, on Dec. 28, 2005. Brooke Queenan, who had 16 points in the first half, was 7-for-8 from the foul line in the final 7:54 to finish with 23 points. With BC leading by three points, Queenan made two free throws with 55 seconds left and Parham iced the game with two more foul shots with 34 seconds to go.
