Davies, Nguyen Lead Revs To MLS Cup Final

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Former Boston College standout and current assistant coach, Charlie Davies, and assistant coach Lee Nguyen have led the New England Revolution to the MLS Cup final that will be played on December 7 against the LA Galaxy at StubHub Center.
It is the fifth time that the Revolution has advanced to MLS Cup and the first time since 2007.
Davis and Nguyen were crucial to the Revs' run to the final. Davies recorded four goals and one assist in the four playoff games while Nguyen had two goals and three assists.
New England opened the playoffs by taking care of Columbus, 7-3, in aggregate scoring. Davies scored two goals while Nguyen had one in the opening 4-2 victory at Columbus. The duo played a hand in all three goals in the Revs' 3-1 home win at Gillette Stadium as Nguyen had a goal and an assist and Davies also recorded an assist.
The Revolution then faced the New York Red Bulls in the Eastern Conference Championship and advanced, 4-3, on aggregate scoring. The Revs opened the series with a 2-1 win in New York in which Nguyen had an assist. Davies then scored both goals in a 2-2 tie that advanced New England to the final. Nguyen provided an assist on one of the goals.
The final will be played on Sunday, December 7 and will be televised on ESPN at 3 p.m.
