Football Hosts Louisville in Saturday Night Tilt

Chestnut Hill, Mass. - The Boston College football team will host Louisville on Saturday night at Alumni Stadium. It is the first meeting between the two squads since 1998 as Louisville joined the Atlantic Coast Conference in 2014.
The game, slated to start at 7:15 p.m., will be broadcast on ESPN2, WEEI 93.7 FM and the BC IMG Radio Network. Fans can also watch online and on the WatchESPN app.
The Eagles (6-3, 3-2 ACC) earned bowl eligibility with a back-to-back road victories, defeating Virginia Tech, 33-31, in Blacksburg, Va., and Wake Forest, 23-17, in Winston-Salem, N.C. They are looking for their fourth conference win since 2010 and recording their best start since they were 2008.
The Cardinals (6-3, 4-3 ACC) are coming off a Thursday night, home loss to No. 2 Florida State. Louisville led, 21-0, but the Seminoles outscored the Cards, 35-10, in the second half to come back to win.
This will be the seventh meeting between Boston College and Louisville but the first as ACC opponents. The last time the two faced each other, the Cardinals took a 52-28 victory in Louisville. Both teams have won three games in the series, which started in 1986 with a 41-7 Eagles' win in Chestnut Hill. The Eagles are 2-1 at home, winning in 1986 and 1991, outscoring Louisville, 74-10. In fact, in all six contests, the winning team earned a victory by at least 14 points. The closest game came in 1989 when the Cardinals won at Alumni Stadium, 36-22.
With his 965 rushing yards, graduate quarterback Tyler Murphy is 35 yards shy of the 1,000-yard mark. He would become the first ACC quarterback since 2009 to complete the feat. In the victory at Virginia Tech, Murphy broke BC great Doug Flutie's career rushing record for a BC quarterback. Flutie amassed 939 yards in four years at The Heights.
Murphy and freshman running back Jon Hilliman are tied for the team lead with nine rushing TDs apiece. Hilliman has amassed 578 yards in his first season in Maroon and Gold.
