Boston College has four players currently competing in Europe this season. Aja Parham '06 is still in Spain. She left Cadi to play at Conquero in Huelva. Kathrin Ress is still in Italy and playing for Familia Schio, while Carolyn Swords is enjoying Italy and plays for Umbertide. Stefanie Murphy can now be found in Romania playing for Sepsi Sic St. Gheorghe.
Parham, a native of New York, is averaging 9.7 points and 4.4 rebounds a game. She is shooting 57.1 percent from the floor for the 11-2 Conquero. Parham had 10 points, five rebounds and three assists in a, 78-56, win over her old team Cadi La Seau. On the 23rd, Parham had six points, three rebounds and two steals in a, 72-65, win over Uni Girona. Conquero next plays on Nov. 28 vs. Al-Qazeres.
The action in Italy is interesting as Kathrin Ress plays for Schio, which is now 8-1 and in second place. Ress is averaging 9.2 points, 6.7 rebounds and shooting 43.1 percent from the floor. Against Imos Brno, Ress had two points and three boards in an, 87-58, victory. On Nov. 22, Schio defeated Levezzini, 85-56, as Ress notched nine points and five rebounds. Schio will next play Nadezhda O. on Nov. 27 followed by a Nov. 30 game vs. Orvieto.
Stefanie Murphy is averaging 17.2 points and 8.8 rebounds a game for Sepsi Sic (11-2) in Romania. She is ninth in the league in scoring and seventh in rebounding. Murphy earned Eurobasket.com Player of the Week on Nov. 12. She had 29 points and nine rebounds in the win over Cluj Napoca. Murphy's final two game before the Christmas break include Dec. 6 vs. Timisoara (8th place, 7-6) and Dec. 13 vs. Targu Mures (9th place, 5-7).
Carolyn Swords had 12 points on 5-for-9 shooting and grabbed seven rebounds as Umbertide defeated Battipaglia, 64-55, on Nov. 23. She is averaging 13 points and 6.9 rebounds a game. Swords is shooting 57.9 from the field and averaging 25.1 minutes per game. Umbertide will play Lavezzini on Nov. 30 and then the meeting between Swords and Ress will take place on Dec. 7 (Umbertide vs. Familia Schio).
