Women's Basketball Hosts Bryant on Sunday

The Boston College women's basketball team will host Bryant on Sunday at Conte Forum at 1 p.m. The Eagles (2-1) are coming off a big home victory against BU on Thursday night, 73-56. BC was led by sophomore Kelly Hughes with her first double-double (16 points, 11 rebounds) and 11 points from junior Karima Gabriel.
PROBABLE STARTERS
• Nicole Boudreau - Jr., G - 2nd leading scorer on the team
• Ashley Kelsick - Fr., G - two straight starts
• Kat Cooper - Jr., G/F - averaging 10 points per game.
• Kelly Hughes - So., G - leading scorer - 11.7 ppg.
• Karima Gabriel - Jr., C/F - had 11 points, 5 rebounds off the bench
BC VS. BRYANT
• This will be the second meeting between BC and Bryant.
• In the only meeting, Boston College defeated Bryant, 68-42, on Nov. 27, 2011.
• This will be the fi rst time Coach Johnson is at the helm against Bryant.
TEAM NOTES
• Sophomore Kelly Hughes was named Eagle of the Week for her performance over the weekend as BC went 1-1 in California. BC lost to No. 1 Stanford on Nov. 14 but rebounded with an 82-72 victory over St. Mary's on Sunday. Hughes had 24 points, seven rebounds, six assists and went 8-for-8 from the foul line in the win.
• Boston College shot 38 three-pointers in the win over St. Mary's. The 38 three-pointers is a new program record. The most taken by a BC team was 30 against Duke on January 12, 2014.
• Junior Karima Gabriel had four blocks, a new career-high, in the win over Boston University. The program record for most blocks by an individual in a single game is seven.
• The team had nine blocks in the win over BU on Thursday. The program record is 10 which occurred on March 26, 2009 at St. John's. In that game, Carolyn Swords '10 had five blocks, while Stefanie Murphy had three.
• Sophomore Kelly Hughes as scored in double-figures in 20 career games, two this season (vs. St. Mary's, BU). Last season, Hughes hit double-figures in 18 games, including four 20+ point games.
