CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Sophomore forward Isaac Normesinu (men's soccer) and junior Erika Reineke (sailing) have been named Eagles of the Week.
Normesinu scored the only goal as Boston College beat No. 1 Notre Dame, 1-0, on Friday night in Indiana. A Notre Dame defender misplayed a long pass from BC's backline and Normesinu one-timed a shot to the back of the net in the 15th minute which held up as the game-winner. Normesinu ranks third in the ACC in goals (5) and points (11). He also ranks second with three game-winning goals.
Reineke won the NEISA women's singlehanded individual championship over the weekend in New York on the Long Island Sound. Reineke registered 14 points while the second place finisher Dana Rohde from Coast Guard had 33 points. In the 12 races ran over the weekend, Reineke placed first in 11. She is now the three-time NEISA champion in this event.
Men's soccer (4-4-1, 1-3-0 ACC) hosts NC State on Friday at 7 p.m. at Harvard's Soldiers Field Soccer Stadium. Reineke, who qualified for the national championships, will race in the ICSA Singlehanded Nationals November 7-9 at Western Washington University.
