Bender Earns WHE Warrior Player of the Week

Chestnut Hill, Mass. - Women's hockey junior defenseman Lexi Bender has been named Hockey East Warrior Player of the Week. This is the Snohomish, Wash. native's first career Hockey East player of the week nomination.
Bender earned the league accolade for her performance in the Eagles' 10-2 win over Syracuse on Oct. 4, recording her first collegiate hat trick against the Orange. Bender took four of BC's 41 shots against Syracuse goaltenders Jenn Gilligan and Abbey Miller. She finished the season-opener with a plus-two rating and one blocked shot on the Eagles' way to victory.
During the 2013-14 season, Bender tallied 17 points on four goals and 13 assists and recorded a +22 rating.
Bender and the Eagles are back in action as Boston College travels to Canton, N.Y. for two games against St. Lawrence, who sits at 1-1-0 after splitting games with defending national champion Clarkson.
