Westphal Wins ACC XC Championships

ACC Championships Results
Earlysville, Va. – Boston College senior Liv Westphal placed first overall at the Atlantic Coast Conference Championships at the University of Virginia Friday, Oct. 31 with a time of 19:43.8. With her 19.43.8 time, Westphal broke the course record and tied her personal record in the 6K. She also ran a 19:43 at the Wisconsin Adidas Invite on Oct. 17.
Westphal improved on last year’s sixth-place finish time at the ACC Championships by 32 seconds.
RS junior Danielle Winslow finished 16th at 20:39.6 and junior Laura Hottenrott placed 28th at 21:03.1—both times personal bests for Winslow and Hottenrott.
Both Westphal and Winslow earned All-ACC, an honor reserved for the top 21 finishers in the meet.
Rounding out BC’s top five finishers were senior Madeleine Davidson, who finished in 43rd place with a time of 21:25.3, and sophomore Megan Young, who finished 78th, crossing the line at 21:55.5. Davidson improved on her time from last year’s ACC Championships by 20 seconds.
Other BC finishers included freshman Ashbrook Gwinn, who finished at 22:05.9, junior Megan Ritchie (22:09.7), freshman Laura Leff (22:34.3), sophomore Danna Levin (22:40.8), and senior Brittany Winslow (23:09).
Overall, Boston College finished 7th with a team score of 162. North Carolina (57), Florida State (99), and Virginia (109) took the top three spots.
BC women’s cross country is back in action on Nov. 14 for the NCAA Northeast Regionals in New York.
