Volleyball To Host Syracuse On Sunday

Chestnut Hill, Mass. - After ten matches over the span of a month on the road, Coach Chris Campbell and his squad will return home to the Power Gym for their first home ACC match of the season on Sunday, October 5.
BC HOSTS SYRACUSE IN FIRST ACC HOME MATCH

The Eagles and the Orange will face off for the first time this season on Sunday afternoon at 12:00 p.m.

Syracuse won both of the meetings between the two teams last year, 3-2 and 3-1.

BC has already matched its total ACC wins from last year after the victory over Louisville on Friday.

The Orange have started the ACC season 0-2 after North Carolina State and North Carolina handed them three set losses this weekend.
SCRAPPY DEFENSE

The Eagles have out-dug its opponents 824 to 741 so far this season.

BC records almost 2.0 more digs per set than its opponents. BC: 15.3 digs/set Opp: 13.7 digs/set.

The Eagles have only committed 17 ball handling errors in 54 sets played.
LAST TIME vs. SYRACUSE

Boston College took the first set from Syracuse before dropping the next three sets.

Katty Workman and Kellie Barnum both recorded double-doubles. Workman had 10 kills and 17 digs, while Barnum dished out a match-high 46 assists along with 16 digs.

BC tallied 50 kills, while Syracuse had 47, but the Eagles committed 36 hitting errors compared to their opponent’s 16.

The Orange blocked well versus the Eagles recording 16.0 total team blocks.

Syracuse’s McCabe, who is currently ranked sixth in the conference with 1.33 blocks per set recorded 4.5 total blocks.
IN THE RANKINGS

The Eagles currently have players on four of the top 10 statistical rankings for the ACC.

Julia Topor is ranked seventh in the ACC in kills with 4.12 per set.

Barnum is ranked eighth in the conference in assists with 9.00 per set and ninth in service aces with .50 aces per set.

Courtney Castle is ranked fourth in the conference in digs per set with 5.25.
