York on Boston College’s goaltenders:
“Thatcher Demko is going into his second year with us and now that he has a taste for Hockey East, the NCAA Tournament and the speed of the college game, he comes back to us as our top goaltender this season. Looking back, Brian Billett and Brad Barone are certainly in the mix. It’s almost a dead heat as to who can step in and give us some games this year. We’ll be watching both Brian and Brad in the early part of our season."
- Sophomore Thatcher Demko returns to Boston College as the Eagles’ top backstopper after turning in college hockey’s sixth-best winning percentage (.729 – 16-5-3) as a rookie. The San Diego native posted a 2.24 goals against average along with a .919 save percentage overall, along with a 9-1-1 total in Hockey East play. Demko’s 1.35 goals against average in conference action not only yielded the Hockey East Goaltending Champion award, but it was also the lowest goals against average mark since Jimmy Howard's (Maine) record of 1.15 in 2003-04. A member of the Hockey East All-Rookie Team, Demko captured the 2014 Eberly Award (goaltender with the best save percentage in the Beanpot) with a save rate of .966, marking the second-best save percentage in Beanpot Tournament history.
- Senior Brian Billett posted the second-best winning percentage in all of college hockey just last calendar year, winning 12-of-16 games started (12-3-1 - .781). Billett and Demko shared the early workload in 2013-14 as the Brunswick, Maine, native recorded a 2.42 goals against average and a .920 save percentage in 17 games played.
- Fourth-year netminder Brad Barone played in four games last season, including a career-best 15 saves in 18:27 minutes of work to help combine for the shutout against Army last year.
