
Strong Weekend For Varsity 8 At Princeton Chase

Princeton, N.J. - Rowing competed at the Princeton Chase on Sunday, hosted on Lake Carnegie in Princeton, N.J. The Princeton Chase course is 2.75 miles long. The Eagles had six boats compete in three races, the Varsity 8+, the Novice 8+, and the Varsity 4+.
Varsity 8+
BC's top boat in the 8+ finished 11th in a field of 50, beating the A boat from schools such as Cornell, Dartmouth, Pennsylavnia, and Georgetown. At the split the BC A Varsity 8+ boat recorded a time of 08:31.724, the leader, Brown, reached the split in 7:58.197. The Eagles finished with a time of 15:25.701, 6.98% behind the winner, Brown (14:25.321).
The Eagles' B boat finished 33nd with a time of 16:40.839, just above MIT's A boat. With that time, the B boat was 15.66% behind the leader.
Novice 8+
Only one boat competed for BC in the Novice 8+ race, and finished seventh out of 15 teams. Recording a 9:08.552 split and a final time of 16:53.739, the Eagles finished 5.18% behind Princeton (16:03.445) who won the race.
Varsity 4+
Three BC boats competed in the Varsity 4+ race, with the top Eagle boat finishing 15th out of 31. The Boston College A boat finished in 17:52.085. The B boat finished in 16th, right behind the A boat, in 17:52:351. The C boat rounded off the Boston College trio, finishing in 22nd place with a time of 18:14.009.

Next weekend the BC frosh team will compete at the Green Monster Regatta hosted by Dartmouth in Hanover, N.H. On November 15, the Eagles will round out its fall season with the Foot of the Charles Regatta.
