On October 16-21 Philip Nelson, Hank Workman and Kent Mukai competed in the ITA Regional Championship at the USTA National Center in Flushing Meadow, N.Y.
Senior captain Nelson was defeated in the first round main draw by Munshaw of St.John's 6-1,6-1. He then won a backdraw match against Colgate's senior captain Pleat from Colgate 7-6, 6-4.
Workman dropped his first round of qualifying singles to Spratt from UPenn, 4-6, 6-1, 6-3. Mukai lost in the first round of qualifying singles to Richardson from Princeton 7-5, 6-4.
The doubles tandem of Nelson and Mukai lost in the first round of main draw doubles to Svenning/Wang of Yale 8-6.
The Eagles will be back in action on Oct. 31- Nov. 2 in Fort Myers, Fla. at the Florida Gulf Coast Invite.
