Cristina McQuiston Goes Undefeated In Women's Golf

Senior Cristina McQuiston had a clean slate over the weekend as she not only won the Hoosier Invitational individual title, but she went undefeated in match play on the par 72 Purgatory Country Club course in Indiana.
A native of Rome, McQuiston shot a 71 on Friday afternoon to win stroke play title. McQuiston had three birdies and two bogies in her first round. She followed that up with two match play victories on Saturday. In her first match against Dana Gattone of Illinois, McQuiston won the match on the 13th hole, 6-5. Later in the day, McQuiston defeated Lena Gautier of Northern Illinois on the 18th hole.
On Sunday afternoon, McQuiston remained undefeated as she beat Illinois State's Brianna Cooper on the 16th hole.
The team placed fifth as the Eagles went 2-1 over two days of match play. McQuiston was not alone as senior Katia Joo went undefeated in match play.
BC was ranked sixth entering the action on Saturday morning. The Eagles lost to No. 3 ranked Illinois, 3-2. The Eagles two wins came from McQuiston and Katia Joo (3-up).
Against Northern Illinois on Saturday afternoon, BC won, 3-2. Christina Wang won (3&2), Katia Joo won her match, 7&6 and McQuiston won, 1-up.
On Sunday morning, the Eagles defeated Illinois State to earn the fifth place finish. Freshman Katie Barrand won her match (3&2), McQuiston defeated Cooper (3&2) and Joo defeated Hayley Guyton on the 15th hole. Junior Christina Wang ended in a tie on the 18th hole with ISU's Kiley Walsh.
