Boston College volleyball (8-6, 0-2 ACC) dropped a 3-0 (25-23, 25-8, 25-13) straight-set decision to No. 17 Florida State (8-4, 1-0 ACC) on Sunday afternoon in Power Gym.
A crowd of 314 supported the Eagles throughout the match but the Seminoles prevailed outhitting coach Campbell's Eagles .478 to .037.
Senior Amanda Yerke paced the offense for BC with six kills while newcomer Barbara Gonzalez contributed five kills and an assist in the loss.
Outside hitter Katty Workman also notched five kills along with a team-high six digs. Courtney Castle and Melissa McTighe both registered four kills in the match while junior Kellie Barnum led the Eagles in assists with 21. Sophomore Franny Hock also came through contributing four digs for the Eagles.
Leaders for the Seminoles included sophomore Nicole Walch who posted a match-high 12 kills along with teammate and sister Elise Walch who notched 10 kills in the match.
The Eagles are back in ACC action next weekend as they welcome NC State to Power Gym on Friday, Oct. 4 at 7 p.m. and host No. 14 North Carolina on Sunday, Oct. 6 at noon.
