BOSTON, Mass. - The Boston College women's cross country team finished fourth out of 14 teams at the Coast-to-Coast Battle in Beantown - BC XC Invite on Friday at the five-kilometer course in Franklin Park. The Eagles posted a team score of 110 and ran an average time of 17:44.
Junior Liv Westphal finished third overall in the field of 146, crossing the line at 17:00. Redshirt junior Madeleine Davidson took the second spot for BC, placing 16th overall with a time of 17:35. Senior Morgan Mueller (17:54) and junior Brittany Winslow (17:58) took the next two spots on the team, and finished just four second apart. Freshman Catherine Maloy rounded out the top five for the Eagles, hitting the tape at 18:15.
Top-ranked Providence won the meet with 50 points, placing four runners within the top seven. No. 3 Oregon finished second with a team score of 85. No. 9 Cornell took third, finishing just nine points ahead of BC with a score of 110.
The Eagles return to action October 12 for the New England Championships.
