Five Lacrosse Players Honored By The ACC

Chestnut Hill, Mass. - Five Boston College lacrosse players were named to the All-Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Team, the league announced on Wednesday afternoon. Juniors Moira Barry, Claire Blohm, Caroline Ceglarski and Kara O'Connell as well as sophomore Mikaela Rix were all named to the list of 32 ACC student-athletes.
To be eligible for consideration for the All-ACC Academic Team, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade-point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during her academic career.
Barry, a three-time honoree, played started 16 of 19 games. The psychology major finished the season with 20 goals, seven assists, 21 draw controls, and 10 ground balls. She was also a recipient of the Athletics Director's Award for Academic Achievement honor.
Blohm, a two-time honoree, compiled 21 ground balls, 16 draw controls and caused 11 turnovers. The biology major caused a career-high three turnovers vs. Northwestern on March 6. She was also a recipient of the Athletics Director's Award for Academic Achievement honor.
Ceglarski, a two-time honoree, started 17 of 19 games. A human development major and a sociology minor, Ceglarski scored 12 goals and had six assists. The team captain was also a recipient of the Athletics Director's Award for Academic Achievement honor.
O'Connell, a first time honoree, started all 20 games for the Eagles this past season. She ranked second on the team in 15 caused turnovers and won 10 draw controls. The nursing major is a two-time Athletics Director's Award for Academic Achievement honoree.
Rix, a first-time honoree, started all 20 games and was named a Tewaaraton Award Nominee. The finance major was second on the team in goals scored (47) and points (55). She earned All-ACC honors and was an IWLCA All-Northeast Region first team and IWLCA All-America second team honoree.
