GREENSBORO, N.C. - Freshman Joe Rahon has been named to the 2012-13 All-ACC Academic Team, announced Thursday by Commissioner John Swofford.
To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during his academic career.
Rahon has been named ACC Rookie of the Week twice this season and is the only freshman in the conference to have two games of 26 or more points. He currently ranks eighth in the ACC in assists (3.5) and 10th in assist/turnover ratio (1.7). Both of those numbers rank second among the freshman class.
Rahon and the Eagles will host Georgia Tech on Saturday at noon in the final regular season game of the season.
