Bolden and Carpenter Tabbed as Second Team All-Americans

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Senior captain Blake Bolden and sophomore forward Alex Carpenter were named as Second Team All-Americans in an announcement made by the American Hockey Coaches Association on Thursday. Five honorees on the All-American teams will be competing at the Frozen Four this weekend.
Bolden and Carpenter join former Eagles Molly Schaus and Kelli Stack as the only All-American honorees in team history. Schaus and Stack were both Second Team honorees in 2008-09 with Schaus taking home First Team and Stack taking home Second Team accolades in 2010-11.
Bolden, the Stow, Ohio native, can break Boston College’s all-time scoring record for a defenseman with two points this weekend. For the season, Bolden has tallied six goals and 23 assists with a +40 overall rating and was recognized with the Hockey East Best Defenseman Award on March 8.
Carpenter, the North Reading, Mass. native, led the Hockey East in scoring this season with 32 goals and 37 assists while boasting a Hockey East record 24-game point streak from Oct. 21 through Feb. 2. Carpenter earned Hockey East Player of the Year honors on March 8 and boasts career totals of 53 goals and 55 assists in 71 career games played.
Bolden, Carpenter and the rest of the Eagles will take on undefeated Minnesota at the Frozen Four on Friday.
