Women's Basketball Loses To Miami, 79-54

Coral Gables, FLA - The Boston College women's basketball team fell to Miami, 79-54, in an ACC game on Sunday afternoon at the BankUnited Center.
Boston College (10-15, 4-10 ACC) was led by junior Katie Zenevitch with her third double-double (15 points, 10 rebounds) of the season, while junior Shayra Brown added 10 points. Tessah Holt had nine points, three assists and three steals.
Miami (17-8, 8-6 ACC) had five players in double-figures but was led by Morgan Stroman with 17 points and six rebounds.
After trailing, 40-29 at the half, Boston College fell behind 51-36 with 15:52 to play as Miami hit two long three's in an 11-7 run. BC would fall behind 60-39 with 12:20 to play as the Eagles could not keep Miami off the offensive glass. The Eagles offensive was never smooth enough to cut into the Hurricanes lead.
BC shot 45.8 percent in the first half but committed 15 turnovers. The Eagles were led by a strong first half by Tessah Holt. She hit three driving layups to break down the Miami defense and finished the half with eight points. Brown was a spark off the bench as she had six points and two boards in the half.
The Eagles shot 36.2 percent from the floor for the game and finished with a season-high 25 turnovers. BC also lost the battle of the boards, 43-29.
Boston College will return home to play No. 7/8 Maryland on Thursday, Feb. 21 at Conte Forum on 7 p.m.
