
Women's Basketball Drops Final Game in Cancun Challenge

Cancun, Mexico - The Boston College women's basketball team lost to PAC-12 opponent, USC, 79-52, in the final game of a three-game Cancun Challenge in Cancun, Mexico on Saturday night. The Eagles are now 3-4 on the season, while USC is now 5-3.
Boston College was led by senior Katie Zenevitch with 12 points and four rebounds, while Kristen Doherty had 12 points, three rebounds and three assists. Junior Nicole Boudreau had nine points and three rebounds.
BC finished the game shooting just 34 percent from the floor and 20.8 percent from the three-point line. USC shot 54.9 percent from the floor and 58.8 from long range.
The Eagles went scoreless in the first six minutes of the game and went down, 14-0. A Doherty layup at 14:16 got the Eagles on the board. BC cut the lead to just eight points on two straight points from Katie Zenevitch but that was the closest the Eagles would get. Later BC went four minutes without scoring and fell, 31-414 with 7:33 to play in the half.
BC shot s season-low 24 percent in the half and went 0-for-13 from the 3-point line. USC shot 65.4 percent from the floor and 66.7 percent (6-for-9) from the 3-point line.
The second half did not improve for the Eagles. The offense continued to sputter as BC was down, 55-25, at the first media timeout. With 11:59 to play, BC was shooting just 30.8 percent from the floor and a season-low 6.3 percent (1-for-16) from the 3-point line.
