Volleyball Drops to Syracuse in Four, 3-1

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Sophomore outside hitter Katty Workman notched her 13th double-double of the season with 10 kills and 17 digs as the Boston College women’s volleyball team fell to Syracuse in four sets on Wednesday afternoon in Syracuse, N.Y.
The Eagles (9-22, 1-18 ACC) took the first set, 25-23, but the Orange (15-16, 10-9 ACC) came back to take the next three sets, 25-18, 25-20, and 25-20.
Senior Melissa McTighe registered a match-high 16 kills on .355 hitting to go with four digs. Classmate Amanda Yerke posted a double-double with 11 kills and 12 digs while junior Courtney Castle came through with seven and 12 digs in the match.
Junior Kellie Barnum also had a double-double with a match-high 46 assists along with 16 digs. Freshman Anna Skold posted six kills and four total blocks and sophomore Franny Hock contributed with a season-high 17 digs.
Head coach Chris Campbell and the Eagles return to action in their final match of the season at Notre Dame on Friday at 3 p.m.
