Women's Basketball To Play At BYU on Saturday

The Boston College women's basketball team went west to play in Utah against BYU on Saturday, Nov. 16 at 6 p.m. (ET). The Eagles are coming off an, 83-60, victory over Hofstra on Tuesday night. BC had five players in double-figures, including freshman Kelly Hughes with a career-high 19 points. Senior Kristen Doherty continues to fill the stat sheet as she finished with 10 points, eight rebounds, five steals and three assists, while Lauren Engeln had 14 points and three assists.
• Junior transfer student Lauren Engeln, who had not played a game since the 2011-12 season continues to improve with each game. She is averaging 35 minutes, 12 points, 3.5 assists in two starts for the Eagles.
• The game at BYU will be the second leg of the two-game road trip for the Eagles. The Eagles return to Conte Forum on Thursday, November 21 to host FIU at 7 p.m. BC will then travel to Mexico to play in the Cancun Challenge. The Eagles will play CAA opponent, UNC-Wilmington; Big Ten opponent, Iowa and their second Pac 12 team, USC.
BC vs. BYU
• This will be the second meeting between BC and BYU.
• The only meeting took place between BC and BYU last season when the Eagles earned a, 62-56, victory on Nov. 15, 2012. Katie Zenevitch led the Eagles with 16 points and 12 rebounds while Kristen Doherty had 15 points, seven rebounds and three assists.
• BYU is currently 2-0 with wins over South Dakota (81-53) and UNLV (71-64).
• Against UNLV, BYU had five players in double figures, including 13 apiece from Jennifer Hamson and Xojian Harry.

• Senior Katie Zenevitch grabbed three boards in the loss to Stanford on Saturday. The Eagles forward now has 507 career rebounds.
• The last time BC opened the season against a ranked team was in the 1996-97 when the Eagles lost to then 5th-ranked UConn at the FleetCenter in Boston.
• BC is 11-2 in season openers since the 2000 season. BC's two losses are against Harvard in 2010 and Stanford this season.
