Reineke, Naughton Qualify For Singles Championship

The Boston College sailing team had two athletes qualify for the Singlehanded National Championship this past weekend. Sophomore Erika Reineke was the overall winner of the New England Singlehanded Regatta, while teammate Carolyn Naughton finished fifth, which advances both BC sailors to the national championship race.
Reineke, the reigning New England and National Champion, won the event with 24 points. She placed first in 9-of-13 races. She also had two second place finishes. Naughton had 92 points for fifth place. She placed second in one race, fourth in the second race and had two fifth place finishes.
The 2013 ICSA/Laser Performance Singlehanded National Championships will be held on the weekend of November 8-10 and hosted by Sail Newport, Salve Regina and Brown University.
