Sailing Has Success Over The Weekend

The Boston College sailing team was busy this weekend as the team picked up two victories at the Captain Hurst Bowl and the Providence Regatta. The women's team placed second at the Yale Bowl, while the team also placed second at the Norman Reid Trophy Regatta. The Eagles also placed second in the Lane Trophy Regatta hosted by Tufts.
HURST BOWL
BC scored 140 points to win the Captain Hurst Bowl. Roger Williams was second with 208 points. In Division A, sophomore Raul Rios and sophomore Doyle Calhoun placed second with 84 points, while Roger Williams had 76 points for the win.
In Division B, juniors William Bailey and Katherine Wysocki had a regatta low 56 points for a first place finish. Conn College was second with 88 points.
PROVIDENCE REGATTA
At the Providence Regatta, Boston College placed first with 64 points, as US Coast Guard was second with 69 points. Senior Ryan Morrison and sophomore Savanna Brown placed fourth in the A Division with 42 points. Brown was first in the A Division with 28 points. In the B Division, freshman Jacob Martz and freshman Hannah Lynn had 22 points for first, while the US Coast Guard placed second with 34 points.
YALE REGATTA
At the Yale Women's Intersectional Regatta, Erika Reineke and Riley Calhoun placed first in the A Division to lead the Eagles to a second place finished behind Yale in the overall standings. Reineke and Calhoun had 54 points to earn a first place in Division A. In Division B, freshman Allyson Donahue and junior Elizabeth Barnard placed fifth with 92 points.
NORMAN REID TROPHY
At the Norman Reid Trophy Regatta, Boston College place second as the team went 9-4. Roger Williams won the event with a 13-0 record. Junior Domenic Bove, freshman Henry Dumke, freshman Maxwell Simmons, senior Caroline Drury, senior Isabelle Salvaterra and sophomore Kaitlin Driscoll raced for the Eagles.
LANE TROPHY
At the Lane Trophy, Boston College placed second behind host Tufts in the regatta over the weekend. BC went 9-3 in the regatta while Tufts was 10-2. Freshman Maxwell Simmons, junior Katherine Downey, freshman Harry Koeppel, sophomore Shelby Hamilton, junior Ryan Schmitz and senior Isabelle Salvaterra sailed for the Eagles.
